The 2nd South Africa International Industrial Expo & China (South Africa) International Trade Expo, which lasted three days, closed successfully in Johannesburg, South Africa on September 1st.

The expo brought together over 200 Chinese and South African companies from Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Hunan, Anhui, and Fujian Provinces, with a total exhibition area of over 5,000 square meters. It featured ten themed exhibition zones, including agricultural machinery, transportation, automotive parts, CNC machine tools, building materials and decoration, engineering machinery, hardware tools, and power and new energy equipment. Many well-known domestic companies came to the scene to display their latest products and technologies.

Many well-known domestic companies came to the scene to display their latest products and technologies. The expo attracted over 21,000 buyers from South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, Lesotho, Angola, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, and Zambia, including 6,732 VIP buyers. The total expected turnover was close to $1 billion.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and South Africa, and it is also “the year of South Africa” in the BRICS. The expo received more attention from all walks of life in South Africa. Representatives from the Gauteng Provincial Department of Economic Development, the South African Small Business Development Agency, the South African National Black Business Council, and the South African Randburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

The expo was aimed at further exploring the trade potential between China and South Africa, expanding the cooperation space, and better benefiting the people of the two countries. China has been the largest trading partner of South Africa for 14 consecutive years, and South Africa has been the largest trading partner of China in Africa for 13 consecutive years. Mutual benefit is the clear bottom line of China-South Africa cooperation. This expo complies with the cooperation mechanism of the BRICS summit. China’s advanced new energy products and agricultural machinery products will promote the further development of South African industry and improve the level of industrialization in South Africa. In addition, well-known media outlets such as China Radio International, Overseas Network, China Daily, China News Service, Qilu Evening News, Shandong News, Shandong Window, Shandong Daily, and Qilu Online tracked the expo.
